I feel betrayed for all the changes and hardships my family endured during the 60’s and 70’s.
We were duped into being made aware of everyone’s plight. We had forced busing and crappy TV shows that made sure we were all shown as equal. Now we have white males portrayed as rednecks and dumb asses…
We have political correctness and hate speech laws that only pertain if your white……for everyone else, it is pride in your culture and heritage.
Laws were supposidly changed to protect all people, …NOT everyone else except white people.
I have never have voted Democrat because they are wrong on everything and dangerous to this country. Why? ( See Above )
I don’t dislike anyone. I do however, deplore the condition of our society in terms of race.
You WILL NEVER have equality as long as you make the same mistakes that history has already recorded. Affirmative Action can only work if it discrimiates against another race.
Most people watch American Idol more then they watch their backs. It is easy to miss what is going on…….I just got tired of it.
I cling to my religion and my guns………..but bitter?……maybe in the way that we are forced to abide by politically correct laws that make no sense.
I believe in all people getting their chance. I also believe that if you have been given more chances than you deserve, then it is time to cut the cord and you will learn to survive on your own.
If you do not speak up for what is right, then you will be perceived as condoning the actions of the bad.
For those people who’s only ace in the hole is to call someone a racist…….

Hey COWG, thanks for the kind words, and thank you NANCY D, and CARROLL JACKSON! “Common Sense” is something that seems to be lacking in today’s society, as well as apprehension to voice one’s “OPINION”, right or wrong. COWG and THE BUDMAN try to speak our minds, with just enough “dry wit” to connect with “The Everyman”. I never mean to “offend” or spew hate, just give MY observations of things that I find “obvious”, and as most people, am always learning about life, always willing to hear another point of view. I like your blog too. But I can see the perch you are standing on. I’m not an elephant nor a donkey, but the one that could bring real change to our country wasn’t even allowed to debate…RON PAUL! Now here was real change for the people. As along as we have this two party system us poor people don’t stand a chance.
About feeling betrayed thats how I feel today. I became a citizen of this country, you took the oath, in 1963. You probably were still a twinkle in your mama’s eye.
And now today every building, airplane court house I have to be “maged” in order to have access. Why because a stupid man did not want to look at his own self in the mirror…it was an inside job…911. Not that poor sheep herder in the Afghan cave. We did not light those fuses to the thermolite explosives, but somehow we all had to pay for it for that 911 coming down. You’re right COWG, and do you really want to roll up your sleeves and start cleaning house?

I grew up in a community that believed that “All Men were created equal”. In my heart of hearts, I felt no sense of prejudisms and believed that that was America.
When I first moved to an urban center, I had new experiences, ones that put me in the face of a people who had grown up quite differently from me. I was facing people, who until 1962, were not even gauranteed the right to vote. That’s not so long ago really. That is within our living history.
I was baffled, of course, the first time I was called a racist, since I knew my heart was open to all people.
What I have since come to understand, however, is that the United States is a vast place, a coalition of countries, each with unique history and practices towards varied cultures. It is impossible to erase the trouble that slavery has wrought upon us, but it is not impossible for us to accept deeply the wound that we created upon ourselves.

You don’t have to have been a slaveowner or a supporter of Jim Crow to contribute to the continuation of the fatal legacy of white supremacy.
All you have to do is buy into the notion that you’re “white.” A man-made social experiment meant to keep certain people down and certain people up.

I have created no wounds….I have only been blamed for them. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT EVER!
This is the same as your neighbor killing someone and you get tried and convicted for the crime.
It is not fair and it does not make sense. You might feel better rolling over and taking it….as for me, I would rather die on my feet instead of live on my knees.
